This month Strictly Business is happy shed light on one of its core values, community involvement. We believe in the importance of supporting our neighbors and giving back to our community. We are proud to have a space that highlights the hard work put in by Omaha’s nonprofit organizations.
Many nonprofits need the support of Omaha’s community. People rely on the programs provided by nonprofit organizations and those who support them. Think about donating to the organizations near you. Even unused items lying around your home such as old towels, children’s toys, and office items can make a big impact. While not everyone can donate financially, there is always something to give. Nonprofit organizations succeed most when supporters pull together and use their different skills to make the program possible. If you can’t donate financially consider volunteering your time and skills for local organizations. Most nonprofits need help with simple tasks such as helping with event activities, office support, tutoring, and more. There is such a wide variety of nonprofit organizations that everyone can find one that they’re passionate about and would like to give back to. We are thankful to include several nonprofits in our magazine, each with a unique mission and an inspiring story to tell. Whether you are passionate about supporting children, animals, women, seniors, minority communities, underserved individuals, or those in need of healthcare, food, and clothing, there is a nonprofit dedicated to that mission and would to welcome your support in whatever way you choose to give.
When you support a nonprofit, it impacts far beyond one individual or program. It plays a part in creating a stronger and healthier community. It also encourages others to get involved and be generous in their own way. Even small acts of giving can make a bigger difference than they seem. When many in the community commit to giving back in small ways, it creates a meaningful and lasting impact. Supporting a nonprofit doesn’t only benefit the organization and people it serves, it also has a meaningful impact on you personally, in more ways than you’d expect.
At Strictly Business we believe that giving back matters in order to strengthen our community. We are proud to highlight these incredible nonprofit organizations in our magazine. They are making a huge difference in our local community and helping Omaha to thrive. By sharing their missions, we hope it encourages you to reach out to your local nonprofit organizations and offer a helping hand. The smallest act of kindness can have a huge impact on those around you. It is truly special when the community comes together to support one another. Everyone has something to bring and we are stronger together. Read on to learn about the nonprofit organizations near you.

After graduation, Scholars transition into our Career Services program where our Coaches work to help them secure a full-time job that pays a livable wage and offers benefits. We encourage Scholars to enter career fields that are in high demand in the Omaha area, including healthcare, the skilled trades, and transportation/automotive, among others.

For 35 years, Firefly (firefly.kids) has been a beacon of hope for children and families across southwest Iowa, helping ensure every child has the opportunity to grow, learn and thrive from the very beginning of life.
The earliest years of a child’s life shape everything that follows. During this critical time, families often face challenges related to health, development, education, housing, food security and other basic needs. When families receive support early, children are more likely to enter school ready to learn, develop healthy relationships and reach their full potential.
That is where Firefly steps in.
Through early childhood education, home visiting, public health services, family support programs and community partnerships, Firefly walks alongside families during some of life’s most important moments. We help parents build confidence, connect families to critical resources, support healthy child development and create pathways to opportunity.
The impact reaches far beyond the children and families we serve. Strong early childhood experiences contribute to healthier communities, stronger schools and a brighter future for generations to come. Every family is empowered, every child supported and every barrier removed creates lasting change.
At Firefly, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to shine and every family deserves someone in their corner. Our work is made possible by individuals, businesses, foundations, volunteers and community partners who believe that investing in children today creates a stronger tomorrow.
Together, we can ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive and every family has the support they need to succeed. More information can be found at firefly.kids.
