Stephen Center Board Member, Volunteer Deb Vosika Receives Heart and Soul Award

Stephen Center (stephencenter.org) is pleased to have honored long time board member and volunteer, Deb Vosika, with the Heart and Soul Award at Stephen Center Guild’s annual fundraising event.

Each year the Heart and Soul Award is presented to an individual or organization who has displayed an authentic commitment to the core mission of Stephen Center. Deb has shown her dedication by serving on Stephen Center’s Board of Directors at the officer level, volunteering her personal time to assist with shelter operations, and advocating to the community about what Stephen Center does. She has been loyally involved with the organization for over 12 years.

“Her time in shelter operations provides the authentic experience that we often need to hear at the board level,” said Executive Director Michael Wehling. “That is what the Heart and Soul Award is all about, individuals just like Deb. Stephen Center would not be where they are today without these individuals.”

This year the Stephen Center Guild partnered with vinNebraska to host a two-day fundraising event, where the award presentation was held. Along with the presentation, guests came together for wine tasting, sit-down dinners with pairings, and the chance to bid on their desired wine collectibles or vacation getaways during the auction. Proceeds from the event benefit Stephen Center programs.

Located in South Omaha, Stephen Center serves the homeless, addicted, and those in poverty. Learn more at stephencenter.org.
