Fall is officially here—and it definitely took long enough! What I miss the most this time of year is walking around on the UNL campus and enjoying the vibrant fall colors and the gorgeous weather. Besides the return of college and professional football and Husker volleyball, this is my absolute favorite time of year for so many other reasons. First off, anyone who knows me is well aware that fall is by far my favorite fashion season. This year marked my first Strictly Business Best Dressed Soiree, which I have been excited about for months now! The venue was gorgeous, everyone looked stunning, and it was definitely a memorable evening–congratulations to all of the 2013 Best Dressed Winners!
Another reason why this is my favorite time of year is that there are plenty of opportunities to be festive and enjoy the holiday season
with my family and friends (and my new co-workers this year!). Moving into winter, we are wrapping up our Construction Series with Fall Landscaping and transitioning into our Holiday Series. While we will still feature some great ideas for projects that you can complete during the colder months, our main focus for the rest of the year will be providing you the best resources and plenty of tips for holiday events, parties and gift giving. Even though I had a hard time adjusting to holiday talk when it was still 90-something degrees outside, there are so many things to enjoy and be thankful for during the holidays that it just makes sense to get the technicalities out of the way as early as possible. Far easier said than done, but well worth giving it a shot!
Last but not least, I’m really excited to see everyone at the Greater Omaha Chamber’s upcoming business-to-business trade show, Buy the Big O! Show, on Wednesday, October 9th. As we are all about getting known at Strictly Business, make sure you stop by our booth and say hello as I would love to get to know you all better!
