Tell us a little about your business. – Cox Business is the premier provider of business telephone, data, and entertainment services in the Omaha area. We are an important part of Cox Communications family, and pride ourselves on serving our customers and community well. I am responsible for indirect sales in Omaha, which we began focusing on heavily less than three years ago. We have been able to grow my department to over 100 agent relationships generating over $4 million in total contract revenue in that short amount of time. I have a terrific team.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – I think learning to take difficult feedback and turn it into meaningful change has been the biggest challenge for me. It is a difficult skill to acquire, but it is extremely important for personal and professional development. Truly successful people look at a set back as an opportunity to improve and prepare for the next opportunity.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Professionally, I am most proud of the people that I have helped develop to expand their careers. The best reason to become a leader is that you are passionate about developing people.

Tell us a little about your family. – Brooke, my wonderful wife, leads the Pre-School department at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. She has a huge heart, and I have been lucky to have her all these years. Our oldest Kennady is a senior at Millard North where she is a enjoying a successful softball season. Luke is in seventh grade and enjoys football and wrestling. Trot is in fourth grade and enjoys football and baseball. Finley, our newest addition, is almost a year old and is very sweet.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I am the president of the Mustang Wrestling Club. It is a non-profit that develops character, self-reliance, as well as physical and mental toughness through youth wrestling. I am very proud of that organization. We have great families involved and it really connects me to the local community in a meaningful way.

What are you the most proud of? – I am most proud of my family. They mean the world to me.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Influential.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Coaching. If I won the lottery, I would volunteer in youth sports full time. I find it extremely rewarding.

What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I serve on the BBB Fraud Committee. Protecting consumers and seniors from fraud is a very important community services, and the BBB does great work in that area. I am passionate about youth wrestling, especially the Mustang Wrestling Club, because it teaches young people incredibly valuable life skills. I am also a supporter of the Bethany Christian Pre-School because I appreciate the passion and commitment of my wife and her co-workers have to develop young people. I’m equally passionate about Cox Charities, which is a local fund from Cox employees that benefits local non-profits, as well as TAGG.
