LimeLight Expressions is a full service event and design company capable of managing your event of any shape and size throughout the United States, specializing in the Midwest.  They will handle all of your event details from start to finish, customized to your satisfaction.  Kimmylea Konsel is the owner and lead designer of LimeLight Expressions.

Tell us a little about your business. – LimeLight Expressions is a family-owned and operated business. My older brother is our creative director for our photography and graphic design team, and I manage the event planning team. We were always taught to help others and wanted to have a company where we could be a one-stop resource for event planning, photography and graphic design needs in order to help others in their everyday lives, with a quality product, exceptional customer service and affordable price.

What are the main goals of your business? – When you think of design, everyone thinks of many different forms of design. There are steps to any design; a thought, the creation and finally completion. When the final work is unveiled, the artist wants to put their design into the limelight to show to everyone their creation.  At LimeLight Expressions, we want to take event planning, photography and design to create a masterpiece for our customers. We want them to be put into the limelight, whether for a wedding, corporate party, small gathering or marketing for a business. From start to finish, we want our design vision to be their success.  This is a way for us to do what we love and help not only our customers, but also those that are in need. We give back 10% of all our net proceeds to local charities and assist in as many fundraisers activities as we can.

How did you get started in the business? – My mother owns a local custom landscaping and design company, Vickie Lea Designs. She does amazing floral design for events. I would assist her and became very good at coordinating and working with clients and vendors. I started to realize event planning was my passion and it was where I excelled. Seven years ago, my own dream became a reality and now I can help others achieve their dreams too. Anyone can plan an event or design a website, but is it unique, done right and does it tell your story? It’s about what’s in the mind and imagination of your event planner or graphic designer that makes ones vision come to fruition.

Tell me a little about your family. – I have a wonderful husband, twin toddlers  (a boy and a girl), and a darling little Cavalier King Charles spaniel. I have one older brother and a great sister-in-law and two nephews, plus, wonderful parents.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Learning that I was pregnant with twins.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I am a certified kickboxing instructor.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Happiness keeps you Sweet, Trials keep you Strong, Sorrows keep you Human, Failures keep you Humble, Success keeps you Glowing, but only God keeps you Going!”

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish? – Take my kids to see all 50 states but most importantly, to raise healthy children that have a strong faith.
