During this season of giving, Youth Emergency Services (YES, yesomaha.org) is seeking the community’s support to help give youth experiencing homelessness and near-homelessness a holiday to remember. Donations will be accepted now until December 16.

YES is in need of unwrapped gifts for youth ages 16-24 and new and expecting mothers and their babies. Items on the wish list include winter clothing and accessories, gift cards to Amazon, Target, and Walmart, and bus passes. YES’ full holiday wish list is located at yesomaha.org. Many wished-for items can also be found on their Amazon wish list, also linked on their website.

“I’m looking forward to the holidays because I haven’t celebrated Thanksgiving or Christmas since I was a kid. I’m happy to be able to celebrate with my YES friends this year,” said a young person receiving services from YES.

Youth Emergency Services assists youth experiencing homelessness and near homelessness by providing critically-needed resources which support them in their desire to be self-sufficient. It is their goal to help youth in crisis get back on their feet in whatever ways they can. After meeting their immediate needs for food, shelter, clothing and safety, they create a support system which helps them flourish.
