Prairie Meadows to Host 80s Bar Crawl April 28 to Support Alzheimer’s Association

Pull out your best 80’s outfit that’s still buried in your closet and show it off at the Prairie Meadows Alzheimer’s Special Care Center’s (prairiemeadowsseniorliving.com) bar crawl on Thursday, April 28. The bar crawl will last from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and the money raised will go to support the Alzheimer’s Association. Registration will be from 4 to 4:30 p.m. at Capitol District Courtyard by Annie’s Irish Pub, 1101 Davenport St.

The bar crawl will be comprised of teams of four. Need help pairing up with a team? Let Marketing Director Don Woods know and he can help you find the best match. Businesses interested in sponsoring the bar crawl are also encouraged to reach out to Don, who can be contacted at marketing@prairiemeadowsseniorliving.com / (402) 391-2790. RSVPs and payments are due one week before the event on Thursday, April 21.

Prairie Meadows encourages each participant to donate $25 or each team to donate $100 through their team page for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which can be found by either scanning the QR code above or by visiting act.alz.org under “Walk to End Alzhiemer’s”. Help Prairie Meadows reach their $10,000 goal!

Prairie Meadows Alzheimer’s Special Care Center is a memory-care facility with 66 beds in four types of apartment-style housing—private deluxe, private, semi-private (just shared bathroom), and companion rooms—and a nurse at the facility around the clock. They use a “Meaningful Moments” program to help get to know residents by learning their life stories and finding out their preferences, likes, dislikes, and cherished memories. Prairie Meadows then incorporates that information into their everyday care. For more information, visit prairiemeadowsseniorliving.com or call (402) 391-2790.
