MLCDC Names Marta Sonia Londoño-Mejia Executive Director

The Midlands Latino Community Development Corporation (MLCDC, www.midlandslatinocdc.org) started 2016 with exciting news as it announces Marta Sonia Londoño-Mejia as its first official executive director, a position that has been filled for the first time in its nine years of existence.

Marta Sonia Londoño-Mejia has been a loyal volunteer of MLCDC since it was founded in 2006. Finally, after her perseverance and hard work, Londoño-Mejia is now able to be a compensated employee of the organization that she has demonstrated so much passions and dedications for.

Londoño-Mejia was the former business consultant for the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, working with Latino businesses throughout the state. She brings many years of experience in the non-profit world working for Centro Latino of Iowa, Lutheran Family Services and the Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

From 2006 to 2008, Londoño-Mejia was the president of the board of directors at MLCDC. Then, she took the role of a volunteered executive director. Londoño-Mejia’s contribution to MLCDC has been substantial to the growth of the organization, its clients and the overall economic growth in South Omaha.

MLCDC’s board members are thrilled to welcome Londoño-Mejia as the first official executive director.
