The YMCA of Greater Omaha (metroymca.org) is proud to announce that George Tintera has been named the new executive director of the Blair Family YMCA. With his previous YMCA leadership, deep commitment to the YMCA’s mission and strong operational experience, Tintera is well-positioned to guide the Blair Family YMCA into its next chapter.
Tintera began his YMCA career in Chicago as a youth sports director before joining the YMCA of Greater Omaha in 2017. At the Maple Street YMCA, he first served as youth sports director and later as senior director, also providing program leadership at the Butler-Gast YMCA. He has led quality programs, drove membership engagement and led facility operations with large staff and volunteer teams. Earlier this year, he supported the Blair Family YMCA task force, helping to grow youth sports offerings in Washington County.
“As someone who has seen firsthand the impact the Y can make, I am honored to serve Washington County and continue the Blair Family YMCA’s vital work with such a dedicated group of staff and volunteers,” Tintera said. “Together, we will build on the strong foundation here and ensure the Y remains a place where everyone belongs and thrives.”
As executive director, Tintera will lead the Blair Family YMCA through its strategic alliance with the YMCA of Greater Omaha, focusing on program growth, staff development, fundraising and ensuring long-term sustainability. Learn more about the YMCA at metroymca.org.
