Educare of Omaha, Inc. (educareomaha.org) recently named Domineeke Bass-Louis as the 2025 Pamela Buffett Teacher of the Year. The Pamela Buffett Teacher of the Year award recognizes a lead teacher, associate teacher or teacher aide employed by Educare of Omaha, Inc. Teaching is difficult, although rewarding work, and this award recognizes a teacher that goes above and beyond to provide outstanding high-quality early education in one of five Educare of Omaha, Inc. schools.

Bass Louis is an associate teacher at Educare Omaha at Kellom and is recognized for her positive impact on children, families and colleagues, especially through her thoughtful participation in parent- teacher conferences and her consistent, caring support of children’s daily routines and transitions.

“Domineeke’s calm, reassuring presence helps children feel confident and secure during times of change,” Theresa Davis, who nominated Bass-Louis, said. “She builds trusting relationships with children and families, and she brings integrity, professionalism and a growth mindset to everything she does.”

McLain was chosen from five finalists, one representing each Educare of Omaha, Inc. school. The other four teachers recognized as finalists for the award were Melissa Cotter (Educare Omaha at Indian Hill), Glenda Linares (Early Learning Center at Skinner), Kathya Aragon (Early Learning Center at Gateway), and Jane Ulrich (Early Learning Center at Kennedy).
