Barb Farho Joins Youth Emergency Services as Director of Development

Youth Emergency Services (YES) (www.yesomaha.org), the only non-profit in Omaha with the sole mission to help homeless and near-homeless youth in the community, welcomed Barb Farho to the team in November as the new director of development.

Farho brings over 25 years of management, fundraising, community-service, and public relations experience to her role at YES. Through her work, she has developed numerous relationships and has extensive knowledge of the non-profit community, educational system, and government.

In her role, Farho is responsible for development, implementation, and management of activities related to public relations/marketing, fundraising, special events, and long-term fund development. Most recently, Farho served as senior director of communications and community engagement at the United Way of the Midlands, leading a team of marketing and communications professionals responsible for public relations, marketing, events, and volunteer engagement.

An active community volunteer, Farho has served on many boards, committees, and associations, including the boards of Collective for Youth, D2 Center, and Butler-Gast YMCA. She also served as chair for the Kids Can! Luncheon and Heartland Family Service Gala.

Youth Emergency Services offers a full continuum of care to ensure all youth receive the support they need, no matter their situation. This includes a Street Outreach Center, Emergency Shelter, Transitional Living Program, and Maternity Home. Last year, YES provided support and services to a record number of youth in the Omaha metro area. Learn more at www.yesomaha.org, or contact YES by calling (402) 345-5187.
