The Alzheimer’s Association, Great Plains Chapter welcomes their newest staff member, Chris Stewart. As Program Director, Chris will lead the education, support, and advocacy efforts chapter wide to serve those in Nebraska and Wyoming who are suffering from the disease.

After 12 years with the Respite Resource Center, the Eastern Area for the Nebraska Respite Network, Chris wanted to find new ways to assist families caring for loved ones with special needs.  Directing efforts for informational opportunities; recruiting advocates to increase awareness of dementia and promoting the importance of support groups, while embracing the Alzheimer’s Association’s motto of, “the compassion to care, the leadership to conquer,” seemed like a wonderful challenge.

The Mission of the Alzheimer’s Association is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

The Great Plains Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association serves 80 counties in Nebraska and all of Wyoming.
