She has earned that trust by being kind and supportive. She will help residents back to their rooms when they have lost their way or takes time to sit with them when they’d like company.”

Joe Safford serves as dining director at CountryHouse in Elkhorn. Beth Gonnerman, executive director of CountryHouse in Elkhorn, says that Safford’s honor is well-deserved.
“Joe is simply amazing,” said Beth. “He is so skilled at creating and presenting delicious meals that fill not only bellies, but hearts! He also goes above and beyond his job description. He takes the time to visit and joke with residents and is always there with a hug or a smile to brighten their days.”
