With the current inflation rate at 9.1%, the pantry numbers at Heartland Hope Mission (heartlandhopemission.org) have increased by 45% since last year. Many families who are struggling to make ends meet need food assistance as well as supportive services. This includes rent, utility assistance, and diapers for their young children. Heartland Hope Mission wants to make sure those coming to the food pantry receive the services they need to prevent homelessness and guide them on a pathway towards self-sufficiency. They need your help to feed the increased need in our community. You can help by donating food, hygiene items, baby diapers in sizes four through six, or by giving a monetary donation. You can donate online or drop off in-kind donations at their South O or West O locations during donation drop-off hours, which can be found at HeartlandHopeMission.org.

Heartland Hope Mission operates one of the largest food pantries in the state, but they are More Than a Pantry since they help families work toward self-sufficiency. They primarily serve working poor families and those facing a crisis by providing a week’s supply of food, as well as clothing, diapers, job resources, and community referrals.
