Open Door Mission Honors Volunteers during National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week is April 17–23, and Open Door Mission (opendoormission.org) wants to acknowledge the volunteers that help the organization continue to move forward in their mission to inspire hope for lasting change. They extend their thanks to the 11,079 volunteers who served in 2021.

Open Door Mission encourages volunteering not just during National Volunteer Week, but throughout the whole year. You can make a difference in the lives of the hungry and the homeless by volunteering a couple hours at Open Door Mission, where there are many opportunities to share your time and service; for example, serving meals or volunteering in their Outreach Centers. Anyone who is interested in volunteering can register online and, once approved, self-schedule where they would like to serve. Get started at opendoormission.org/volunteer.

They also offer Volunteer in Place opportunities where you can volunteer from your home or work; this includes activities such as making sack lunches, encouraging handmade cards, making fleece blankets, and more. Find out more at opendoormission.org/volunteer-category/volunteer-in-place.
