Youth Emergency Services ( is hosting their 2023 Halloween Ball on Thursday, October 12, at the Omaha Design Center from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is their 14th annual fundraiser Dance for a Chance. To purchase tickets or a sponsorship, please contact

With this year’s theme being a Halloween Ball, dancers and instructors will wear costumes and incorporate dance elements from Halloween and all things spooky in their performances. Attendees are invited to, and encouraged to, dress in Halloween attire as well.

This year’s amazing dancing line-up includes: Commissioner Roger Garcia – District 1, David Ortman – First National Bank of Omaha, Emily Mwaja – Kiewit Luminarium, Yesenia Valenzuela – City of Omaha, Christine Henningsen – UNL, Eli Rigatuso – Bellevue University and Speaking of Happy, Maria Corpuz – Peeq Industries, Natalie Boyle – Lindsay Corporation and Shereece Dendy-Sanders – Nebraska Department of Economic Development.

Like Dancing with the Stars, Dance for a Chance pairs up dancers with instructors, who then work together to create a dance, pick accompanying music and practice over the summer before competing in October. At the same time, the dancers are working within their personal and professional networks – largely via social media – to raise awareness and money for Youth Emergency Services.

Youth Emergency Services assists youth and young adults experiencing homelessness and near homelessness by providing critically-needed resources which support them in their desire to be self-sufficient. For more information, visit
