The Claire M. Hubbard Foundation to Match Donations to Vision Maker Media

Now through December 31, donations to Vision Maker Media (VMM, visionmakermedia.org) will be doubled with a 100% match provided by The Claire M. Hubbard Foundation. These donations help aspiring Native filmmakers become career Native filmmakers through the Native Youth Media Project, Short Film Fund, and Public Media Fund, which provides much-needed mentorships, professional development, training, and funding to make films. They also help provide free online events where filmmakers are able to share their stories and have panel discussions to engage and educate audiences on Native topics that are affecting their communities.

Vision Maker Media is the premier source of public media by and about Native Americans since 1976. Their mission is empowering and engaging Native people to share stories. They envision a world changed and healed by understanding Native stories and the public conversations they generate. The organization works with VMM funded producers to develop, produce, and distribute programs for all public media. VMM supports training to increase the number of American Indians and Alaska Natives producing public broadcasting programs. A key strategy for this work is in partnerships with Tribal nations, Indian organizations, and Native communities. Reaching the national public and a global market is the ultimate goal for the dissemination of Native public media that shares Native perspectives with the world.

Vision Maker Media is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) funded in part by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). To support Native filmmakers and their stories with your donation, visit visionmakermedia.org.
