Omaha Creative Institute is Calling All Artists

Omaha Creative Institute announces a call for artists for Community Supported Art (CSArt) Omaha. With the same buy-local spirit of community-supported agriculture, CSArt Omaha will enable the public to purchase shares and in return receive locally produced, curated works from artists.

CSArt Omaha seeks nine metro artists, each of whom will receive a commission of $1200 to produce 49 small works of art – 40 for the shareholders and nine to exchange with the other artists.  Artists benefit from meeting new supporters, connecting with other local artists, marketing their work and gaining publicity.

Examples of possible artwork: screen-prints or photographs, ceramics, a 7” record, a private performance, letterpress of a poem, and small paintings, sculptures, or fiber art.

During the program OCI will host “Meet the Artist” events that bring together shareholders, sponsors, and artists to cultivate relationships.
• Artists working in all media and at all levels of experience may apply.
• All artists with residence in the Omaha metro are eligible.
