“Never enough praise can be offered to those who practice a ‘live to give’ philosophy of their time, treasure and talent. I am both humbled and tremendously inspired by the number of McCook friends that share this core value and believe this community deserves to be something more special than it already is.”
These words were spoken recently by Dale Dueland of the McCook Community Foundation Fund, which is an affiliated fund of Nebraska Community Foundation. The Fund had just surpassed its goal to raise $500,000 to receive a $250,000 challenge grant from the Sherwood Foundation of Omaha.
Dueland went on to say, “A giant thank you to the Nebraska Community Foundation and the Sherwood Foundation staff for teaching and inspiring us to recognize the potential of our community. Without you this would have never been possible on the scale we have achieved.”
Nebraska Community Foundation and its 223 affiliated funds have raised and reinvested more than $126 million in Nebraska communities in the past five years.
