Midlands Community Foundation raised more than $29,000 at its 2014 golf tournament held at Platteview Country Club on May 19. The funds raised will continue to endow the Children in Crisis Field of Interest Fund created at Midlands Community Foundation in 2010. At this year’s tournament, donations from that fund were awarded to the Sarpy and Cass County CASA Kids Club programs to provide extras for children while they are in foster care, including extra-curricular activities, senior pictures, haircuts, pool passes, camp fees, driver’s education classes and back-to-school items.
The mission of Midlands Community Foundation is to benefit the diverse needs of the Sarpy and Cass county communities by providing financial support, involvement and service. Over the last 30 years, the Foundation has served as a leader by helping to identify community needs and partnering with corporate and individual donors to make the most of their charitable dollars. The Foundation has a strong commitment toward prevention and education in the areas of health, art, culture, community, education, economic development and human services.
