Autism Action Partnership (autismaction.org) is hosting a special Zoo Night on Saturday, August 23, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. This event is designed for individuals on the autism spectrum and their loved ones who may not be able to visit the zoo during regular hours due to sensory issues or other challenges.
Please only sign up if you are part of this community, as space is limited and intended for families who truly need this type of event.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of previous Zoo Nights—and a high number of no-shows after registration— Autism Action Partnership is implementing registration limits and a small fee to help ensure spots are reserved by those who truly plan to attend. The goal is to give as many families as possible the opportunity to enjoy this special experience together!
Tickets are $2 each and limited to six tickets per family. If more than six tickets are purchased, only six will be reserved and a follow-up email will be sent. No refunds will be issued for those who purchase more than six.
This is an after-hours event, so some animals may not be visible due to their natural sleep cycles, and the penguin exhibit lights will be dimmed to maintain natural sleep cycles.
Concessions will be available, and the gift shop will be open.
Let’s make this a fun and inclusive night for the autism community!
