Firefly (firefly.kids) is proud to announce that it has been awarded funding through the District 4 Thrive Iowa initiative to expand services for families in Pottawattamie County. This investment will allow Firefly to create three new positions dedicated to helping individuals and families move from crisis to stability through coordinated, community-based support.
The Thrive Iowa initiative utilizes a collective impact model, bringing together nonprofits, community organizations, healthcare providers, faith-based groups, government agencies and other partners to work toward a shared goal: helping families achieve long-term stability and independence.
Through this collaborative approach, Firefly will strengthen its ability to connect individuals and families with critical resources and personalized support related to housing, mental health, financial stability, employment, food access, transportation, and other essential needs.
“This grant represents an incredible opportunity to deepen our impact in the community,” said Kimberly Kolakowski, Executive Director. “The collective impact model recognizes that no single organization can solve complex challenges alone. By working together with community partners, we can better support families as they move from crisis toward long-term stability and success.”
