Domesti-PUPS Raises Over $13K at Annual Party in the Garden Fundraiser

The 8th annual Party in the Garden was held on September 18 to benefit local nonprofit Domesti-PUPS (www.domesti-pups.org). The fundraiser, held in partnership with Strictly Business, saw the biggest turnout in its history and proudly raised $13,486.48. This would not have been possible without the support from all of the attendees, countless auction item donors, and the following sponsors: ALLO, PRG of Woods Bros Realty led by Ben Bleicher, Thrive Corporate Events, Ironhide Construction, Sam’s Club, Union Bank & Trust, Doorstep Diner Catering, Jimmy Johns, Maize Gourmet Popcorn & Ice Cream, Buzzard Billy’s, Kinkaider Brewing Co., James Arthur Vineyards, Noodles, Whispering Winds Vineyard & Tasting Room, Back Alley BBQ, Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Stahla Rentals, Rolling Hills Trading Inc., Earl May, Mower Medic, and Eagle Printing & Sign.

Attendees enjoyed free food and drinks, a live and silent auction, the chance to do some gardening fun with Earl May, and live music by the talented Cindy Matthes throughout the evening, all in a beautiful outdoor setting. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages were donated by local vendors.

Proceeds from this event go towards supporting Domesti-PUPS’s mission of providing therapy dogs, service dogs for persons with disabilities, and training rescue dogs. The costs to acquire, maintain, and place these highly skilled canines is quite high— veterinary costs alone are over $2,500 a month as Domesti-PUPS has over 40 dogs in their care at any given time. These dogs receive quality care and require extensive testing to ensure they are healthy enough to do their future jobs.

Domesti-PUPS is based in Lincoln and has satellite locations for pet therapy programs are in Auburn, Fremont, and Omaha. To learn more about Domesti-PUPS and future opportunities to support their efforts, visit www.domesti-pups.org.
