Big Red Friday to Support Ronald McDonald House Families

Football season is fast approaching, and on the Friday before the Huskers’ season opener, you have a chance to take part in a state-wide, one-day fundraiser to help a well-deserving cause: Ronald McDonald House Charities in Omaha (RMHC; www.rmhc.org). On Friday, August 30, McDonald’s restaurants across Nebraska and southwest Iowa, RMHC, and Husker IMG Sports Marketing are once again partnering to launch “Big Red Friday” to support families staying at the House.

Big Red Friday flags will be sold for just $5 each at more than 80 McDonald’s locations beginning at 6 a.m. on the big day, while supplies last. Many restaurants in the Omaha metro area were sold out in just two hours, helping to raise $25,000 for RMHC, which hosts families from across the state and beyond while their children receive life-saving medical care in Omaha-area hospitals.

Ronald McDonald House Charities (www.rmhc.org) is also requesting help from volunteers to make this year’s event another success. To volunteer at your nearest McDonald’s, contact Emily Mozer at (402) 346-9377 or emozer@rmhcomaha.org.
