Nebraska Shakespeare Announces Leadership Changes, Upcoming Events

In response to the past couple of years, the Nebraska Shakespeare (nebraskashakespeare.com) Board of Directors decided to make some changes in order to begin work on building a new Nebraska Shakespeare. To begin, they conducted a national search for new leadership and ultimately hired Omaha native Tyrone Beasley to serve as artistic director and Brett A. Bernardini to serve as executive director. They join Lara Marsh, director of production, who was already in place.

Over the past seven months, the new leadership has created a transformational 10-year vision; a bold new EDIAB (Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity, Accessibility, and Belonging) plan to change the organization’s culture; revised their vision, mission, and values; and even secured new offices at Millworks Commons. In addition, the Board of Directors is expanding its membership and is welcoming resumes for potential new members.

Nebraska Shakespeare is also pleased to share their upcoming events. They will be bringing back their signature FREE event this coming summer at Elmwood Park, Shakespeare on the Green, beginning in June. In addition, they will be expanding their state-wide fall educational tour. They will also offer a two-week summer youth educational program, Camp Shakespeare, in July. Registration information can be found at nebraskashakespeare.com. Advertising and sponsorship opportunities for these events are also currently available.
