MICAH House ( www.themicahhouse.org) invites the community to learn more about their specialized volunteer group called STAR Society. Members of STAR Society help support MICAH House’s efforts in fundraising, gathering in-kind donations, and planning events. They often organize and lead fun activities for families and women; this includes birthday parties, baking or painting fun, or water day.

MICAH House relies on volunteers, like those of STAR Society, to support their mission. Each year, over 850 individuals call MICAH House “home” while they experience the crisis of homelessness. The employees and program partners of MICAH House work hard to provide as much normalcy for their families and women as possible.

STAR Society is growing! If you are interested in taking a deeper dive in supporting MICAH House’s clients, consider making a commitment of time by joining STAR Society. More information can be found on the MICAH House’s website under the “Volunteer” tab and “STAR Society” tab. You can also contact Ashley Flater, associate director at aflater@themicahhouse.org / (712) 323-4416 Ext. 2105.

Founded in 1986, MICAH House is a transitional homeless shelter that serves families and women in the Omaha-Metro area and Southwest Iowa. For more information, visit www.themicahhouse.org.
