MICAH House (www.themicahhouse.org) invites the community to participate in upcoming donation drives to help the children and families of their organization. Throughout July, 89.7 The River hosts “Kicks for Kids.” The drive will collect shoes of all sizes and genders for students from kindergarten to high school. These shoes are given to MICAH House kids the first week of August as they prepare to return to school. If you’d like to participate, listen in to 89.7 The River to find the drop-off locations.
MICAH House will also be holding a drive for back-to-school supplies so that all children at the organization will receive a new backpack loaded with much needed school supplies. If you, your business, or your network are interested in donating school supplies, donations are accepted Monday – Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the garage door on the east side of the building at 1415 Avenue J in Council Bluffs. Types of supplies needed include backpacks, notebooks, folders, colored pencils, pens, highlighters, glue, and earbuds.
