Mosaic (www.mosaicinfo.org), a national nonprofit serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), has named Malindi Gabelhouse as Mosaic in Omaha’s associate director. Gabelhouse–who has been with Mosaic since 2019–is also the associate director of Mosaic in Southeast Nebraska, which is based in Lincoln. With more than 20 years of experience in human health services and leadership management, Gabelhouse loves her job at Mosaic, as she personally connects to the organization’s mission, which is to “embrace God’s call to relentlessly pursue opportunities that empower people.”

“It’s a mission I’m extremely passionate about,” emphasized Gabelhouse. “As to ‘empower’ means providing personalized services and support to help individuals with IDD achieve their best life,” said Malindi. “All individuals, regardless of disability, deserve the opportunity to be full members of their community where they can live, learn, work and play through all stages of life. We are all human and deserve to be treated equally and offered the same opportunities and respect as our fellow peers and neighbors.”

Mosaic in Omaha is part of Mosaic, which is a whole-person healthcare organization reaching across 13 states in more than 700 communities and providing supports to nearly 4,900 people. Mosaic is an affiliated social ministry organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, a member of Lutheran Services in America, and a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
