Lerner, president and founder of The Lerner Company has been inducted into the Midwest Real Estate 2022 Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame. Jay’s involvement in commercial real estate spans more than 50 years. He has been involved with shopping centers since 1973 and has developed nearly 3.5 million square feet across the Midwest. The Lerner Company’s newest project, North Star Crossing, is a 50-acre mixed-use development located along North 27th St in Lincoln.
Lerner graduated from Michigan State University, after which he began a career in the supermarket industry. He later served as Director of Real Estate and Market Research for Supermarkets Interstate, a supermarket chain with stores located throughout the country which was acquired by JC Penney.
