Boys Town National Research Hospital Receives $2.6M from Ryan Foundation

Boys Town (boystown.org) has received $2.6 million in donations from the Ryan Foundation towards their National Research Hospital in Omaha. Boys Town National Research Hospital will use the donations to further their health care research and continue their internationally-recognized clinical programs focusing on childhood deafness, developmental language disorders, and related communication disorders. The donation is part of $4 million in aid the Ryan Foundation sent to several Omaha nonprofits and individuals in the community who have been impacted by COVID-19. The nonprofits chosen were of special importance to Dr. Wayne and Eileen Ryan—the late founders of Ryan Foundation; Boys Town was a place of worship for the Ryans and supported its efforts to expand into health care and research.

“The generous support from the Ryan Foundation has allowed Boys Town National Research Hospital to expand the impact of our research program into an exciting new area of research that fits with our organizational mission,” Director of Research at Boys Town Ryan McCreery said. “With these funds, Boys Town scientists will be able to develop new genetic tools to help identify and treat conditions that our physicians and scientists encounter every day.”

Other Omaha organizations that received donations from the Ryan Foundation are: the New Cassel Foundation, St. Vincent De Paul Society, Spirit Catholic Radio Network, and the Children’s Respite Care Center. The Ryan Foundation has also donated to various organizations in other states that support health, research, and community well-being. Boys Town is eager to use these funds from the Ryan Foundation to provide care for at-risk children for years to come.

Boys Town believes that every child deserves a future, and to fulfill that dream provides compassionate, high-quality care to at-risk children, focusing on the love, support, and education they need to thrive.
