In August, more than 230 staff members at Educare of Omaha, Inc. (educareomaha.org) took part in a week of learning and training to get ready for the new school year. This special in-service week helps teachers and staff grow in their work with children and families. During the week, staff learned about Conscious Discipline, Language and Literacy, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, and other important soft skills. These lessons help staff better support the over 650 children, ages birth to five, who return to Educare classrooms each fall, and their families.
“Training like this is not just about getting ready for the school year,” said Rafel O. Hart, Executive Director of Educare of Omaha, Inc. “It’s about helping our team become even stronger, so they can give every child the best chance to succeed.”
Professional development and ongoing learning for teachers and staff is a key part of the Educare model. By taking time to learn and reflect together, the Educare team builds strong relationships, grows in leadership, and shares new ideas across all five school sites. Thanks to this week of learning, Educare of Omaha, Inc. staff are prepared and excited to welcome children back for the 2025–26 school year. With a strong, caring team and a focus on quality, the organization continues its mission to support young children and their families every day.
Educare of Omaha, Inc. provides high-quality, year-round early education at five early learning schools located in North and South Omaha, and also operates a home visiting program. Learn more at (educareomaha.org).
