Dressed in red and green from head to toe, batting her tinsel lashes, Chris Cummings, with Age Advantage Senior Care jingled while reading, “The Elf on the Shelf,” to older men and women in nursing homes and retirement facilities. In December Chris began sharing a tradition spread through the homes of our children, and is now creating a new tradition for an older generation who have never heard of the “Elf on the Shelf,” until now.
One of the facilities she visited was Heritage Ridge. Lenore Shrum, Life Enrichment Director said, “Having our own personal Elf “Chris” was a wonderful treat for our residents. Smiles filled the room as she read the story. We have residents walking the halls to find the elf every morning and they are rewarded with a small treat if they can tell you where they found it.”
