Meet Tyler Albers, the vice president, relationship manager at Cornhusker Bank.

Tell us a little about your business. – Cornhusker Bank is a 119-year-old family owned community bank based in Lincoln. As vice president, relationship manager, my focus is growing and developing client relationships in the Greater Omaha area. In Omaha, Cornhusker Bank specializes and focuses on commercial, wealth management, and mortgage banking.

How did you get started in the business? – I had a close relative who was involved in banking and I was able to witness firsthand the opportunities the profession had to offer. I’ve been lucky enough to be a banker in the Omaha area for 13 years now.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Becoming a vice president for Cornhusker Bank. It’s an honor to have the opportunity and trust to bring such a great brand and company to the Greater Omaha community.

Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my incredible wife Nichole for 10 years. We have three amazing kids—very active 5-year-old twin boys, Nolan and Micah, as well as our beautiful 2-year-old daughter Hadley. We also have a mini dachshund named Slink. My wife and I are both originally from Papillion and are very excited to have recently moved back to the area after about a decade in West Omaha.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Going away to college out of state. I quickly realized how great it is to live in Nebraska. It really is “The Good Life!”

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love to golf if the weather is nice, watching college football in the fall, and doing anything family related with my wife and kids.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I played basketball at Nebraska-Omaha and also have Native American ancestry.

Who inspires you? – My family, specifically my father and grandfather who have both passed away.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Cornhusker Bank has great core values: Own It, Care Deeply, Deliver the “Wow” Experience, Build Positive Relationships, and Do Life Together.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Friend.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – Playing basketball.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Stephen Center is such an amazing organization run by incredible people who I consider to be real-life heroes.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The Reason I Jump by Naoki Higashida.

What is your favorite movie? – Gladiator.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Hiro 88 or The Drover.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Kobe Bryant.
