Meet Ben Eberle, CFO of Stonebrook Exterior.
Tell us a little about your business. – Stonebrook Exterior (www.stonebrookexterior.com) provides expert knowledge in construction management. We have multiple service personnel and the resources to perform projects of any size, from large-scale full exterior building envelope projects to minor roofing leaks or repairs. Our pride and personal involvement in the work we perform results in superior quality, design, and service. This attitude is also directly reflected throughout our entire team with our high level of responsibility, professionalism, and competency.
How did you get started in the business? – When I graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, I was approached by my friend to join his young but growing company. When I started, there was roughly eight people. Now, we are roughly 150 people strong!
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – I knew very little about the construction industry. I had to learn to read prints and all the components that go into construction.
Tell us a little about your family. – I’ve been married to Liz for 16 years and we have two sons, Carson (12) and Cooper (10).
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – I decided in 2007 to go back to college and get a degree in business. I worked second shift in the warehouse at Pepsi and went to school in the mornings and did homework after work in the evenings. It made for some long days.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Most of our days off consist of going to some type of youth sporting event. Whether its football, basketball, baseball, or golf something is always happening.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I went to seven different schools in three states before high school.
Who inspires you? – Family, friends, and coworkers.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Listen. They will tell you what they want.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Teleportation.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Hunting.
What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I’m passionate about making youth sports available in a community. I volunteer my time as a coach throughout the year.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Out of the Pocket: Football, Fatherhood, and College GameDay Saturdays by Kirk Herbstreit.
What is your favorite TV show? – Yellowstone.
