Tell us a little about your business. – We are a design-build remodeler and ADU builder. At Platte + Pine (platteandpine.com), we pride ourselves on a client-first approach with an obsession for communication, transparency and attention to detail.

How did you get started in the business? – Through years in construction management technology, I had the opportunity to work with some of the best builders and remodelers in the country. After hearing the familiar horror stories from local homeowners, I sought to provide a better experience here in Omaha.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Starting a business or law school.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Starting Platte + Pine. I love working with homeowners to bring their dream space to life.

Tell us a little about your family. – I have two young kids, Jovie (3) and Jacob (1) along with my amazing wife, Alissa, who owns a women’s clothing boutique in town.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – There have been so many, but nothing changes your life like having children does.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – On a day off, I enjoy spending time with my family or attending Husker games, whether in Lincoln or traveling somewhere else.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – People are often shocked when I tell them I am a lawyer. I suppose there aren’t many lawyers that decided to start construction companies!

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” – Matthew 6:27.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – It would have to be dedicated.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – If I could choose one, it would have to be flying for sure! It would make getting around job sites a heck of a lot easier.

Which talent would you most like to have? – If I could pick a talent it would be to be way better at playing golf.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – If you had asked me two years ago, I would have said entrepreneurship. But now that I’m living it, there is nothing I would rather be doing!

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – My favorite book is either Unreasonable Hospitality or They Ask, You Answer.

What is your favorite movie? – Miracle.

What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? – Santoro.
