How did you get started in the business? – My father offered me a job in 1992. I was only 21 at the time. I had to take a cut in pay, but he promised me it would be worth it in the long run. He was right. I can’t imagine doing anything else. I have been doing this for about 25 years now and I’ve never had the feeling of being burned out.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Probably balancing my personal life and my work life. My best friends are my employees and even some of my customers.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Definitely growing the business exponentially over the past 10 years.

Tell us a little about your family. – My wife and I have been married for 17 years and we have two daughters who are now 23 and 16 years of age.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Purchasing the business from my Dad in 2005. I knew I had to make the business work for several reasons, but the most important was ensuring my Dad was paid back in full in order for him to retire. Pressure! But at the same time it had to work for me and my family. However, it only took me two years to double sales so as a result the pressure subsided.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – What? Business owners get a day off?

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Fair.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Any place that serves authentic Italian fare!
