Tell us a little about your business. – FotoFunSpot (fotofunspot.com) is a photo booth rental company in the Omaha area that offers photo booth experiences for events like weddings, parties, and corporate functions. Along with the booth rental, our clients have an attendant/assistant that runs the booth so they can enjoy their special occasion.

How did you get started in the business? – Five years ago, my sister, who also works for FotoFunSpot, asked to me help with a photo booth at a wedding. One event was all it took! I love being a part of people’s celebrations and wanted to stay on as an assistant.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – I am naturally an introvert so working in the entertainment space was hard at fi rst. Making sure that our clients are having a fun experience has pushed me to come out of my shell and has helped me grow both personally and professionally.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Staying with FotoFunSpot for the past 5 years!

Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my husband for 11 years. We enjoy watching movies together and spending time as a family. We have a daughter who is 7. She is kind and smart. Her favorite things are swimming and being outside; we especially love riding bikes and playing at the park. We also have a son who is 6. He is funny and full of life. He loves play at the park, playing video games, dressing up as super heroes, and going to his kids’ gym.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – In June, we found out our son has Rett Syndrome, a progressive genetic disorder that targets motor function and comes with an array of additional concerns over time. We’re still adjusting to the news and while we don’t know what the future holds, we do know that the diagnosis changes a lot for us as a family.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – My favorite thing to do on my day off is treat myself to a pedicure.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I enjoy working out. I wake up at 4:05 a.m. most days to get to the gym by 5 to workout.

Who inspires you? – Entrepreneurs. I think it’s awesome that they take risks and strive to work for themselves/build their own businesses.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “What you aren’t changing; you are choosing”.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? Authentic.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I would love to be a doula and support mothers through the pregnancy process.
