Tell us a little about your business. – I started PrintOvations in 2006 after working in the printing industry for 8 years.  I wanted to bring customer service back to an industry that had lost focus on the customer.  We started out offering printed material only; mainly forms and labels. Shortly thereafter in 2008, we expanded our product line to include corporate identity. In 2010, we added promotional products to our offering. Most recently, we added design services, embroidery service and screen-printing.  We help our customer today with their marketing and brand awareness campaigns. Whether it’s business cards, brochures, banners, pens, or apparel; we can put your logo or brand on most anything.  We are here to help you “Get Your Brand On!”

How did you get started in the business? – After several months of preparing to launch PrintOvations, I left my previous employer on a Friday and began PrintOvations the following Monday.  It was exciting, scary and fulfilling all at the same time.  Eight years later, I am very proud of what we’ve accomplished and how we’ve grown.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Our biggest challenge has been managing our growth.  As PrintOvations has continued to expand over the years, I’ve strived to preserve our customer service focus while maintaining our internet based pricing model.  These are two of our core values and they help ensure our goal of 100% satisfaction.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – My biggest achievement was before I began my professional career–it was joining the military.  I joined the Army National Guard when I was 19 years old for the G.I. Bill. I spent six years in the National Guard and it was the best thing I’ve ever done.  It taught me that I can do whatever I put my mind to, as well as the discipline and leadership skills that I’ve carried with me ever since. With the G.I. Bill I could afford to go to college, where I received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Marketing. The fundamentals I’ve learned serving in the military continues to impact my business decisions and goals yet today.

Tell us a little about your family. – I’ve been married to my wife, Jen for 17 year and we have three great children; Kylie (12), Owen (11), and Zoey (6).  My family means more than anything to me.  They make me proud every day.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I’m an outdoor guy, so I enjoy spending time outside with my family camping, biking and hiking.  I’m also a car and motorcycle enthusiast and enjoy working in my garage.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I love to travel.  I’ve been to 48 of the 50 states and 16 countries.  I studied at Westminster University in London and also worked in the Marketing Department of the British Council.

What are you the most proud of? – My children!  They amaze me every day with their outgoing spirit and dedication to excel in both school and extra-curricular activities.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Work smarter, not harder!
