How did you get started in the business? – I worked in the financial services industry (GMAC) for seven years prior to entering banking in Omaha in 1992.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I’m not sure that I can answer that as a single event; I have worked my entire life, dating back to a paper route when I was young that I kept for five years. My work ethic that was instilled in me by my parents is still with me today. I think my most important professional achievement is the consistency of the work I have produced since entering the professional work force.

Tell me a little about your family. – I have been married for 26 years to a beautiful, wonderful and supportive wife. We have 3 children; a daughter who recently graduated from UNO, a son that is a junior at Denver University studying accounting, and a son that is a junior at Skutt Catholic. All of my children have unique talents from sports to music. They have all done very well in school and are self-starters.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Meeting my wife. I have my sister Barb to thank for that. They were sorority sisters at UNL. My sister reminds me of this regularly and I’m really thankful that she did!

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spend it with the entire family at the lake. I also enjoy playing golf.

What are you the most proud of? – My children.

What is your favorite movie? – Miracle, the story of the 1980 USA Hockey team and their gold medal. I like sports movies and since I am a hockey fan this movie is a natural favorite for me. I had a chance to meet Herb Brooks before he passed away; that was really neat. He seemed like any ordinary guy but he was obviously far from that.

What is your favorite TV show? – Modern Family.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Lazlo’s.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Jesus.
