Meet Brittney Rexius, CFO and co-owner of Rexius Nutrition, Iron Heaven Gym, VHI-Fit, and the Omaha Protein Popcorn Company.

Tell us a little about your businesses. – All of our businesses revolve around becoming a better version of yourself and taking your health into your own hands by offering the highest quality of supplements, vitamins, snacks, and gym equipment.

How did you get started in the business? – My husband Tim started Rexius Nutrition (www.rexiusnutrition.com) prior to us meeting. When we started dating, it was a perfect match, and combined we were able to turn our dreams into reality while working together to create companies that we could both stand behind with the highest level of integrity.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Leaving the corporate world and going off into the entrepreneur life without a safety net or guarantee of anything working out.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Seeing things that have been years in the making come to fruition and hearing success stories from customers of our businesses.

Tell us a little about your family. – We are a blended family of yours, mine, and ours. We have six amazing kids ranging from 22 years old to our youngest at age 3. Our house is always vibrant and loud, but it is the most beautiful chaos. Our kids have grown up helping in the businesses, and it’s the greatest feeling to have your kids involved and love to be involved in your family business. Our family is strong in faith, and God is at the center of our home and everything we do!

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Years ago, I dealt with addiction. My biggest turning point would be the day that I decided to get clean and turn my life around. Here, 19 years later, I am living a clean life that I would have never thought possible.

Who inspires you? – My husband. I grew up in a small-business family, so I was use to the grind that comes with it, but my husband never ceases to amazing me with his drive and knowledge. Everyday he inspires me to have faith and be fearless.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.”

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Determined.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I always wanted to be a firefighter.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I love to be involved in any organization that helps teen moms, as I was one at 18, and recovering addicts.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Well, the last book I read was on potty training a very defiant boy! Other than that, I love to read motivation books. I recently read Make Your Bed by William H. McRaven.

What is your favorite movie? – All-time favorite from childhood is Beaches.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – M’s Pub.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Jesus, just to sit in His presence!
