River City Six – Angela Wilson

Meet Angela Wilson, chief executive officer for Predictive Technology, Inc. (www.ptisolutions.com)

Tell us a little about your business.

Predictive Technology, Inc. (PTI) was established in November of 2003. We are a niche company that provides an array of products and services to help our clients maintain the health and integrity of their power and environmental critical equipment and facilities. Most of the solutions we provide are used in data centers/computer closets/offices, however, we have also helped clients with unique needs. For example, PTI provided a leak detection system for a Fine Arts Warehouse in New York City.

How did you get started in the business?

This will make you laugh… bass fishing! I’ll explain. I was on a fishing date with Tim, the man that I married a few months later, and we were talking about how his boss wanted to sell PTI. Tim was managing PTI at the time. It was an opportunity that we couldn’t pass up. We bought the company in 2009 and the rest is history.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

Making the switch from being a marketing director/realtor for a home building company, to running a technology business. I spent the first year reading technical manuals, case studies, and trade magazines, and I attended manufacturer training seminars and trade shows, to learn the business and products.

Tell us a little about your family.

My husband Tim and I have four adult children, seven grandchildren, three dogs, five cats, and a few chickens. I’m very proud of my kids. Nathan and his family live in North Carolina. He is a Lieutenant in the Army, stationed at Fort Bragg. Adam has cerebral palsy and lives with his mom in Council Bluffs. Sonia lives in Sioux City, IA and she is a marketing director for a large insurance company. Renee and her family live in Omaha and she is an RN at Nebraska Medical Center.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

I enjoy playing with our two-year-old grandson, camping, fishing, cooking, canning during garden season, tailgating, or relaxing on our acreage in the country.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

I got to go on a private tour of President Nixon’s yacht before he was impeached. I even got to drive it briefly!
