Stephen Center (www.StephenCenter.org) invites the Omaha community to spread holiday cheer through Merry Mart by donating new board games, clothes, gift cards, and other small items. Donations will be accepted up through the day of the event on Tuesday, December 13.
“Many families are fortunate enough to come together for the holidays and exchange gifts, share a feast and build family traditions. However, some families won’t, because they simply can’t afford to,” Executive Director Michael Wehling said. “We believe every family should have the opportunity to make holiday memories if they wish. Last year the community’s support was greater than ever before, and we look forward to keeping that momentum this year.”
The Merry Mart at Stephen Center will provide families the opportunity to shop for their children from donated items at no cost to them. Gifts for adults are also needed so everyone at Stephen Center can open a gift on Christmas morning.
Donations can be brought to the Stephen Center Donation Dock, 2723 Q St. between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. on the weekends. Individuals can also view and purchase needed Merry Mart items through the wish list at amzn.to/2WQQiYl.
Located in south Omaha, Stephen Center partners with the community, individuals and families to overcome homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges. The campus includes a homeless emergency shelter, inpatient/outpatient co-occurring treatment, and permanent supportive housing for disabled and low-income individuals.
