The Rose Theater (www.rosetheater.org) invites families to Rosefest, a new event celebrating creativity and community on Saturday, August 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held outside The Rose at 20th and Farnam St. Families will enjoy a variety of activities including music and on-stage performances, bounce houses, activity booths, costumed characters, face painting, interactive art displays, and more. The event is free to the public and families of all ages are invited to attend. A special organ concert featuring The Rose’s antique Wulitzer pipe organ will be performed by the River City Organ Society following the festival, giving visitors a unique look at this one-of-a-kind instrument in its full glory.

Rosefest kicks off The Rose’s 2022-23 season, which officially opens with The SpongeBob Musical on August 26. Other shows making their way to The Rose stage this year include the world premiere of Popularity Coach, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, Havana Hop, The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, Last Stop on Market Street, and Disney’s Beauty and The Beast. The Rose’s First Stage Series also returns this year with two productions designed specifically for very young children: Ode to Toy and Firefly.
