Project Harmony’s Speaking of Children Luncheon and Conference Set for April 14-15

Speaking of Children, with the mission of inspiring and educating the community in the fight against child abuse, is Project Harmony’s (projectharmony.com) signature event which engages everyone in the community to learn about and join in their efforts to end child abuse and neglect. Speaking of Children is a two-day conference and luncheon including phenomenal plenary presentations and break-out sessions for law enforcement, prosecutors, CPS workers, medical providers, victim advocates, and treatment and prevention providers. Hosted in downtown Omaha at CHI Health Center, it attracts more than 1,200 participants each year since 2008. While the conference is focused on professional advancement in the child welfare field, the conference and luncheon are open to all interested community members.

This year’s keynote speaker is Rosemarie Aquilina, an internationally renowned judge who is most notable for presiding over the 2018 USA Gymnastics sex abuse scandal where she allowed over 150 women and girls to present personal testimony against Larry Nassar. She ultimately sentenced Nassar to up to 175 years in prison.
