Visiting Nurse Association (VNA, vnatoday.org) has named Dr. Carole Patrick, a longtime VNA leader with a history in philanthropy, development and communications, as its next CEO. She begins her role effective immediately.

Patrick joined VNA in 2017 as Vice President of Development and Communications. In 2022, she was promoted to chief philanthropy officer. Patrick was named interim CEO in June 2023 following former CEO James Summerfelt’s retirement.

The promotion also positions Patrick as CEO of Easterseals Nebraska, a subsidiary of VNA that provides services to people with disabilities to ensure they have an equal opportunity to live, learn, work and play.

“I’m honored and humbled to lead VNA and Easterseals Nebraska, two organizations that have served as foundational community resources,” Patrick said. “For 127 years, VNA has provided high-quality health care and supportive services to under-resourced individuals and families through the tireless work of our nurses, staff and partners. I’m eager to continue building upon this long tradition of community care.”

VNA offers a wide range of community-based services including home health aide services, parenting support, immunizations, shelter nursing and school health programs.

For more than 125 years, Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) has continued to ensure expert guidance and compassionate care are accessible to all. To learn more and support VNA’s unique commitment to fostering a healthy, thriving community, visit vnatoday.org or call (402) 930-4000.
