Tim Silknitter Purchases 16-Year-Old Gitt Construction from Founder Mike Gitt
In October 2020, Tim Silknitter purchased Gitt Construction, Inc. (gittdbr.com) from Mike Gitt, who founded the company in 2004 on the foundation of quality craftsmanship, on-time delivery, and honoring every client’s budget for custom-designed home remodels. Tim purchased the company with the intention of continuing operations based on those founding principles, ensuring all remodeling projects meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and design while leading with innovative products.
Mike grew up on a farm outside of Valley and earned his construction management degree from the University of Nebraska Kearney before creating the strong, respected home-remodeling company in the Metro Omaha and Valley area. Tim grew up working on family real-estate properties, paid his way through college doing apartment maintenance, and earned his architectural-studies degree from the University of Nebraska. For more than 20 years, he has had a successful career in the commercial construction industry, including leadership and business-management positions that trained him for his new role.
