Project Harmony (www.projectharmony.com) would like to congratulate their outstanding leader, Gene Klein, recently recognized through the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO).

Each spring, the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice hosts a scholarship and awards luncheon to recognize the achievements of the school’s alumni, faculty and students.  This year’s Outstanding Community Service Award was awarded to Gene Klein, Executive Director of Project Harmony.  Under his leadership, Project Harmony has become a national model in responding to child maltreatment.  Klein is an active volunteer.  He is a former chairman of the board of the National Children’s Alliance in Washington, D.C. and he serves on Governor Pete Rickett’s Commission for the Protection of Children.  Additionally, he was appointed by the Nebraska Legislature to serve on the Children’s Commission.  Klein was also awarded the UNO Public Service Award for Outstanding Grassroots Non-Profit Administrator.

Project Harmony (www.projectharmony.com) is a non-profit, community-based organization that has served more than 22,000 children during the past 17 years by providing a child friendly environment in which specially-trained professionals work together to assess, investigate, and resolve child abuse cases.
