Omaha Chamber President David Brown Announced as ACCE Board Chair

The Greater Omaha Chamber (OmahaChamber.org) recently announced that David G. Brown, president and CEO, was named chairman of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, (ACCE;acce.org) board of directors. ACCE is the nation’s largest nonprofit association for chamber professionals of its kind, representing a membership of nearly 10,000 professionals who work for and with more than 1,300 chambers of commerce around the world.

ACCE board chairs serve one-year terms, and Brown’s term will span July 2019 through July 2020. In this role, he will oversee activities of a 70-member board of directors that provides leadership and strategic direction to the association’s 30-person staff. Brown accepts the tenure while continuing to lead the region’s highest-performing chamber: the Greater Omaha Chamber, a 2015 ACCE Chamber of the Year, and the catalyst organization leading the Metro’s $32-million Prosper Omaha 2.0 campaign, an initiative designed to create 10,000 jobs and $3 billion in new investment.

In addition to leading ACCE’s board of directors, Brown will continue adding direction to Horizon Initiative: Chambers 2025, a future-focused endeavor designed to inspire out-of-the-box ideas for growth-centric communities.

The mission of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives is to support and develop chamber professionals to lead businesses and their communities. To accomplish this, ACCE creates quality professional development-from core competencies, to strategic problem solving, to visionary leadership. ACCE provides the tools executives need to improve the management and operations of their chambers, including identifying and analyzing the trends affecting our nation’ communities, establishing benchmarking studies, and sharing best practices.
