Dr. Asaad Mahdi Joins Midlands Latino Community Development Corporation

Dr. Asaad Mahdi has been hired for the child care development outreach and translator position for the Midlands Latino Community Development Corporation (MLCDC; www.midlandslatinocdc.org).

Dr. Mahdi has his PhD in Statistics from University Kebensaan Malaysia. He has experience teaching graduate and undergraduate students for more than 20 years in USA (UNO) and overseas (Iraq and Malaysia). Dr Mahdi also has experience with preschool, elementary, middle, and high school students. He was a principal of an international school in Malaysia for three years where the students were from all over the world. He held other positions such as the director of planning and sustainable development division in the ministry of Environment, Baghdad Iraq.

As a trainer, Dr. Mahdi organized courses to improve the work of the employers at the University of Baghdad and the employers of the Ministry of Environment, Baghdad, Iraq with coordination with the WHO (World Health Organization). As a researcher, Dr. Mahdi participated in many conferences and has had more than 15 research articles/studies.

Dr. Mahdi will communicate with the refugee and immigrant community (Asian and African) residing in Nebraska to identify their needs and how can MLCDC help them. Also, Dr. Mahdi will collaborate in the development of culturally competent curriculum and resource materials in English and Arabic, promoting MLCDC’s childcare programs and services. He will perform data analysis on childcares in Nebraska and Iowa and periodic reports.
