Gerry Phelan, owner of Midwest Woodworkers, Inc., has been named this year’s recipient of the Bruce Hamm Trailblazer Award for Advancing Business Ethics. This award was presented to Phelan by Business Ethics Alliance executive director, Dr. Beverly Kracher, on Wednesday, December 12 at the nonprofit’s annual holiday volunteer appreciation event.

Phelan leads the Business Ethics Alliance Speaker’s Bureau. Under his management and guidance this group of volunteers has coordinated a record number of speaking engagements, several given by Phelan himself, on behalf of the Alliance and its awareness efforts. The Bruce Hamm Trailblazer Award is bestowed annually to an individual who personifies the true spirit of the Business Ethics Alliance through his or her trailblazing actions and/or philanthropy.

The Business Ethics Alliance is a one-of-a-kind, community-based initiative comprised of small, medium and large companies committed to “Proving the Right Things Work”. Their purpose is to further the level of ethical dialogue and education and to measure and analyze its impact.
